Beef Stew Recipe (Arabic يخنة اللحم )




Meat stew is a famous recipe around the world especially in Palestine and Jordan, it is more famous than chicken stew, and served with rice in a variety of ways.

You can choose to prepare it whether with carrots or with potatoes.


Ingredients

A kilo of beef cut into cubes.

7 chopped tomatoes.

2 onions, finely chopped.

2 crushed garlic cloves.

1 tablespoon of finely chopped parsley

2 sliced ​​carrots.

1 tablespoon of tomato paste.

2 soft chopped celery sticks.

1/3 cup white flour.

2 cups chicken broth.

Half a teaspoon of dry thyme.

2 Laurus nobilis.

1 teaspoon salt.

Half a teaspoon of black pepper.

3 tablespoons vegetable oil.

2 tablespoons of butter.

Overheat a pot, add oil and beef cubes, then add salt and pepper.

Wait until the beef is sauteed then remove from the pot.

In the same pot add the butter, onions, and garlic, and stir them well.

Add the tomato paste, stir, then put the meat back and continue to stir.

Sprinkle the flour over the ingredients, then pour the broth and stir until the broth boils.

Add the parsley, thyme and the laurus nobilis.

Leave the ingredients on low heat for an hour or until the meat becomes tender.

Add tomatoes, celery, carrots, and stir.

Leave the ingredients on fire until the sauce becomes thick.

Serve hot with white rice.
